Deal of the Month

Traveling down the highways can get confusing when you see the vast array of events and attractions available to you.  Let us make it easier than ever for you to make your getaway decisions, by outlining month-by-month the best travel values available in Stillwater!

June – Around the World In One Music Filled Cowboy Weekend

When:  Oklahoma Celtic Music and Heritage Festival - Oklahoma’s first statewide festival celebrating the music and culture of Scotland, Ireland, Wales and other Celtic Nations will be held June 21-22, at the Payne County Expo Center.  During the two day celebration, festival goers can experience traditional music, dance, demonstrations, sheep dog trials and Scottish horse events.  Celtic bands from across the state will perform traditional jigs and reels, some of which may sound familiar to fans of bluegrass or country music.  For more information about the Oklahoma Celtic Music and Heritage Festival and the Oklahoma Celtic Heritage Association, visit their Web site at www.okcelticfest.com.

Why:  Stillwater is known for producing top musical talents such as Garth Brooks, All-American Rejects, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and more!  Be sure to visit The Strip to see the next generation of stars at top venues such as Willie’s Saloon, Copper Penny, The Cross-eyed Cricket, and more.  For a more upscale, low-key experience, visit the secluded Woodland Park Vineyard for a taste of some top home-crafted wines.

Room:  Executive Suites by LindsayThis is a great place to stay for an extended period of time and you’ll love having your very own golf course to play just across the street from your room.

Table:  Thai Café or Golden Dragon CaféTaste these authentic cuisines spiced up or down to your preference.  The Thai Café offers a very urban atmosphere while the Golden Dragon Café is a bit more traditional.

Wear:  If you are brave enough, traditional Celtic wear will be perfect for the festival, but you might want to shift gears and visit Downtown Stillwater’s The Territory to make the most of your Cowboy inspired trek down The Strip.

Weather:  Avg. High =88 oF  , Avg. Low =66 oF  , Mean Temp. =77 oF

Prep:  Pack a lawn chair because there will be indoor and outdoor activities at the Celtic Festival!

P.S.:  Stop by Coney Island on The Strip for a late night snack…we’d recommend the Nuke Dog!
